Meetings are time consuming and expensive, but at least they should produce great results. Not always your experience? That's where I come in.
Too often, meetings get bogged down in personalities, the same people talking, the same ideas coming up…or simply end up parroting the interests of the meeting's leader. No wonder meetings frustrate people. My role, as an independent, objective professional, is to reach the results the group desires. It starts with me pre-interviewing each of the attendees and then setting the agenda to reflect their interests. The meeting isn't about singing songs or playing games — there's serious work to be done. True team-building occurs when a team works together, effectively creating sound, implementable plans. The team learns how to work together, rather than just to get along. During the meeting, people are heard, conflicting opinions examined, and decisions are made. We don't defer everything for further evaluation and discussion at a future meeting — we make clear, informed decisions and move forward. Attendees depart with a sense of accomplishment and success: time well spent.
